2009 Interior Designs of the Year
They’re new, they’re innovative and they look better than ever: Feast your eyes on the award-winning interior designs in 417-land.
An interior designer’s work extends far beyond picking out paint textures and carpet colors. In order to show an appreciation for some of 417-land’s most brilliant designers, we created the Interior Design of the Year Awards: A free, juried competition open to all design projects and designers based in southwest Missouri.
This year was the 6th annual Interior Designs of the Year competition. We had 80 entries total, with 27 of them in the residential category. All the entries displayed innovative designs in gorgeous local homes, but to select the absolute best (and to get a few fresh sets of eyes on the work of the area’s best-known designers), we brought in three judges from the St. Louis ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) Chapter: Cary Baumann, CJ Knapp and Julie Baum.
After many hours of studying the projects, the judges selected the top seven entries. Turn the page to see them, and treat your eyes to a little interior design candy. This year’s winning designers were honored at an Interior Design of the Year Awards celebration on Tuesday, July 14 at the Affinity Ballroom.
