Homes of the Year 2010
The year's most beautiful new spaces, put together by 417-land's top builders and designers.

Every year, 417 Home hosts a Homes of the Year competition and invites all 417-land builders to enter their prettiest, most extravagant, most gorgeous homes. And every year, we’re more and more impressed with the quality of entries we receive. After oohing and ahhing over every project’s last detail, we pass the entries over to a panel of judges, who study each project long and hard.
These judges look beyond the furnishings and décor and focus on the bones of the house, which is often where the builder’s work truly shines. This year, our judges selected five winners, including one overall winner and four additional winners that are categorized by price point.
From a 60-foot corkscrew water slide to a great room with 20-foot vaulted ceilings, this year’s entries were some of the best yet. They were diverse, too, having a house that looks like it belongs on the Florida coastline and another that seems it should be on a ranch in Colorado. But they’re not. They’re actually right here in southwest Missouri, and they were built by some of the area’s best builders. So go and read this story, enjoy the photos and appreciate the builders’ creations. And then keep it around, so if you ever decide to build a custom home, you’ll know exactly whom to call.
