When the Scott family takes a trip to Bull Shoals Lake, they don’t usually plan for a quiet, tranquil weekend. Their style is the more the merrier, and their newly reconstructed kitchen, designed under the direction of Jacque Pitts with Brashears Furniture, is just the room to fulfill their every need.
Perhaps the most important feature the couple wanted was space for multiple cooks to work in the kitchen at once. A farmhouse concrete sink is nestled under the large windowsill, and a second kitchen sink sits in the island across from the stove for maximum food prep space. The island itself has deep drawers used for storing pots, pans, plates and bowls, along with a warming drawer. A door near the stove leads into a walk-in pantry that also houses a coffee bar and microwave.
The room is large, with more than four feet between the outer perimeter of the room and the island so that guests and hosts can move around without bumping into each other. Leading out to the lake, the hosts and their guests use a Dutch door off to the side that ushers them through the mudroom and laundry room and out to an outdoor grilling patio with an ice machine.
