There’s something undeniably appealing about a sleek white kitchen filled with gleaming, understated appliances. Although they’re a classic choice, white kitchens can easily slide into stark or stuffy territory. Designer Nathan Taylor of Obelisk Home leaned into industrial accents to keep this kitchen looking sleek, not sterile. Taylor points out that small details like the striking backsplash and hints of nickel add “elegance without formality.” The industrial light fixtures provided by Obelisk Home also lend a modern feel to the room. “The light fixtures were chosen to reflect the architectural, industrial feel,” Taylor says. Despite industrial touches, this kitchen feels far from bare. “Classic doesn’t have to mean sterile or boring,” Taylor says, pointing to the creamy shades of white that liven up the space. His favorite part? “The huge kitchen island,” which was sourced from Signature Interior Expressions and cut from light granite to fit the massive stone slab. From the gleaming appliances to the modern barstools selected by the homeowner, this kitchen radiates casual elegance and modern style.
