About This Event
The Austrians and Germans have elevated comfort food to an art. Schnitzel is somehow both homey and fancy at the same time, and Strudel is basically apple pie dressed up for an evening of waltzing. The music we play will be the same—familiar and comforting while also hauntingly elegant and beautiful. Strauss’s Rosenkavalier Suite is lush and his Fledermaus Overture is like a fizzy champagne. To garnish this entrée of events, Brahms’s Violin Concerto performed by the magnificent Giora Schmidt is a familiar and always appealing classic.
