Transform your space for the season with these tips from Kimberlee Stockwell-Braasch of Kimberlee Designs and Cathleen Frank, ASID, owner of CCF Interior Design & Project Management and the current president of the Springfield Design Association.

Replace lamp shades. It’s fine to choose fresh and funky shades for the spring and summer, but choose more formal shades for the fall and winter.—Kimberlee Stockwell-Braasch

Change up the sofa. Rotate the slip covers on your sofas and chairs in your living room, kitchen and dining room with fun, seasonally themed patterns. Also, switch up your accent pillows to complement the various covers. —Kimberlee Stockwell-Braasch

Change out artwork. Decorate with deeper, richer pieces of art for the fall and winter. —Cathleen Frank, ASID

Switch out rugs. For fall and winter, choose colors like deep green, rich orange, eggplant and gold. —Kimberlee Stockwell-Braasch

Change tableware. For the fall and winter, add a rich tablecloth to your dining room or kitchen table. Finish this idea by adding seasonally appropriate napkin rings, vases or candlesticks.—Cathleen Frank, ASID

Accent with paint. Since popular wall colors are often neutral shades, choose an accent wall to paint a crazy color depending on the season. It costs a lot less than painting a whole room, and it makes just as big of a difference. —Cathleen Frank, ASID
