So I know winter is the time of year for warm cocktails spiked with rum and all sorts of fruit, but when I’m buzzing around the kitchen trying to make food for a dinner party or brunch with the girlfriends, the last thing I want is a hot cocktail in my hand. Instead, I usually crave something sweet and refreshing that won’t make me too sleepy. This pineapple whiskey cocktail is the perfect thing! I add extra muddled pineapple to make it really fruity. This delicious tincture is a rip from Tim Federle’s Tequila Mockingbird: Cocktails with A Literary Twist. This book is packed with cocktail recipes all centered around some of my favorite books.

Makes 8 cocktails

Ingredients
1½ cups whiskey
4 ounces pineapple juice
2 ounces orange juice
1 liter ginger beer

Directions:
Add the whiskey and juices to a punch bowl, and add ice. Stir in the ginger beer, and enjoy.
