Bright Bath — Moderlighting and a chic medicine cabinet give this bathroom a one-of-a-kind look, and orange walls give the space energy.
Transform the bathroom to be lighter, more spacious and open.

Changing the space from dark and drab to bright and edgy, Interior Designer Andrea Deckard transformed a hole-in-the wall bathroom to a room you can’t miss. The space began as a dark, cramped bathroom that was in desperate need of a creative mind and some flow. The renovation allowed a door to be added between the bedroom and outer vanity, as well as the creation of a new shower layout. This alone made the bathroom seem more open. To stick with the objective of a more spacious feel for the bathroom, lighter colored tiles replaced the original floor tiles and were added to the walls of the shower. “The shower even has glass elements in it to open up the space more,” Deckard says. “The orange paint was used to give the space energy.” These details added a more modern feel to the space and were carried through in the floating vanity, modern lighting and chic medicine cabinet. Storage was also added, as well as improved lighting and bright colors. “By the end, the space looked lighter, brighter and more attractive,” says Deckard.—R.B.
